We wore these costumes right after I had Eden and I wanted my still pretty pregnant looking stomach hidden.
All you need is:
pair of black sweats
long sleeve black men's shirt
White felt
fabric glue
Using poster board paper I drew the bones. I would later use the bones as a template to cut them out of the white felt.
I found Eden's onsie at Walmart and I used it as a guide:

For my Pocahontas costume I literally bought this stretchy tan fabric, laid it on the ground and put one of my dresses on top. I traced the dress, sewed up the shoulders and sides and added some felt trim.
The blue necklace is made out of felt like a bib necklace I attached to ribbons to the back for a tie and a dark stone for the center.
For Eden's Flit costume I took in a dollar store kids t-shirt and added felt to the front. I made a feather headband and with another dollar t-shirt made wings.
I made the wings detachable with Velcro but I'm still not sure why.....?? I also have tiny bands around her wrists so the wings would stay on.
I added real feathers underneath a larger piece of felt "tail feathers".
For John smith we got a wig, blue shirt from his closet, blue thrifted pants and a shell that I made out of felt.
Felt is my go to Halloween costume fabric it seems!

Ummmmmmmmmmm, We don't know! My husband and I had this awesome idea to be Juno and Bleaker but there is a good chance I could have this baby before Halloween.
What to do???
What are you going to be for Halloween?

Oh fun ideas! I love how you made them all! I need to get into Halloween more! I have no clue what I will be this one! I was actually thinking of being Juno as well but my husband will be out of town for the church Halloween party and I don't want to look like a knocked up girl haha.
ReplyDeleteI have ZERO ideas and ZERO time for a costume. :S I'll come up with something but for now, I have no clue.
ReplyDeleteI loved the Juno idea! It's adorable!!
Soph I DIE over your Pocahontas costume. Seriously clever.
