Wooden bead necklace

Jul 10, 2010

I got this huge pack of wooden beads for 4.00 from Walmart. For this project I am using only the light beads... can't wait to make stuff with the rest!

Next I found a 12 inch chain from an old broken necklace.

Then I threaded all the beads on to twine. I had a little less than 2 1/2 feet of beads.

I left 7 inches on each end and cut the twine.  Then I draped the beads the length I wanted them ( Lay them in a "Z" and then put the ends together).

With the open end of twine I connected my string of beads to the chain by looping it through several times.

I finished it off by tying a few knots at the end and threading the left over string into the center of the closest bead,

All done.

I love an earthy look combined with edgy things and the wooden beads connected to the chain does just the trick.
