If you don't already DIE for DAYBOOK you should...
Sydney is adorable and hardly ever talks about what shes wearing... just hilarious thoughts and musings that will have you in tears you will be laughing so hard!
i happened to ask her how tall she was because her legs always look crazy long in all her pics and she told me that she is only 5'3"!!!! WHAT!? I am 5'3"(ok... nearly...about a half inch shy, but who's counting) the point is... she had a TIP for me,
if you are petite, wear your skirts a bit above the knee you will look TALLER... Sydney does!
Did it work? i feel taller!
I am LOVING Ashley from i believe in unicorns... she confirmed a hunch we have had about "matching"
..... its totally boring.
but there is a method to the "non-matching" madness, we have just never been able to put it into words...
well, Ashley gave us a formula!!!!
"It is called the rule of 3's.
It applies in all sorts of artistic pursuits,
but today I will relate it to fashion.
It doesn't necessarily have to be three colors. It could just be two different colored solids and a pattern that is one of those main colors.
Or even three different (complimentary) shades of one color.
The thing is to rarely (if ever) wear only two solid colors."
i don't consider it a "RULE" more like a guide or like i said formula ( because we don't really believe in rules when it comes to style... if everyone always followed every imaginary fashion rule there would never be trends set... what a boring matchy-matchy world we would live in!) its more like reminding us to find balance in our color and pattern choices... and Ashley put it into words for all of us!
i believe this also applies to silhouette choices as well... find balance!
black, brown AND navy! such a "rule" breaker!
Kristine over at Kristine. or Polly. is a genius (goodness, i think i have been spelling genius wrong for quite a long time...yikes..).... especially when she chooses her shoes... she seems to know exactly how to kick an outfit up a notch and that the wrong shoes can make it or break it... is your outfit too nerdy? throw on a strappy black rocker wedge and you are in business!
i LOVE that girl... and her shoes
i love discovering super cool stylistas out in the blogisphere (are those words?) who have you found that we NEED to know about?
GOSH! i LUHV all the other blogger tips you put on here. STELLAR!! haha you completely made me laugh! Your legs DO look longer girl!! I love it! And you should know those shoes are KILLER. I'm dying over here.

ReplyDeleteTotally love that trick! It's sometimes hard when you have carinessa bottoms on (hello Gs). I have to make sure I wear my cottonpoly bottoms when I do that!
