braid and chain necklace

Jul 6, 2011

i know that i promised a tutorial yesterday...
i think you will forgive me when you see just how stinkin easy this is!

first take three long strips of super cute sheer fabric {or old curtains... what ever you've got lying around}
{i just snipped into the selvage edge and ripped}

 use a scrap to tie the three ends together

 braid... then secure the other end with another scrap

tack on a couple of rockin chains with a few stitches
 i then tied the two ends together and wrapped the knot with a long scrap to finish it {not pictured}
 all done! new favorite necklace... i have worn it at least 5 times and i made it last week!
thrifted top, necklace made by me, Sophies jeans, Elise's shoes

are you obsessed with something that you cant stop wearing? its like all i see are outfits to go with this necklace and i am completely blind to all else! should i put it down or just wear the heck out of it? thoughts?

  8. I would love to wish you all "Happy Birthday," but I didn't know if you would be willing to share that information.  I promise that I NEVER include age/year.  After seeing that hubba-hubba momma of yours I realised that there are ageless immortals roaming the earth and that one of them is your goddess mother.  I am the faucet-fixer/ironing/scrubbing/cooking/maintenance mom.  I guess that makes me the wrench and scrubbing brush goddess.  You are all so inspirational and I hope that it is in the cards that sometime I meet you.  (Need to do a little dieting first.)  Love you lots and lots, Liz's mom
