i have a new uniform...

sometimes i wear the same clothes for days at  a time... 

there are two main reasons

i'm freezing...

and i'm lazy.

these photos are an example of how heels and a pendant necklace can turn "slob" into "slouchy"

it still doesn't change the fact that i didn't shower..

cant win them all...

when there is snow on the ground i have this strange aversion to changing my clothes... its too cold to expose any amount of skin to the air...
so i just add clothes... layers and layers until i resort to stealing sweatshirts from my 6' 4" husband because i simply cant layer my own clothes over my own clothes any longer...

on a warm note...

we just got back from here... long story...

"make do" cleopatra...

my children were very EXTREMELY opinionated about their costumes this year and i promised them that if they gave me enough notice i would make them whatever their little hearts desired...

this was the easy costume...

 the "easy concept" is what i really mean....

this costume cost me nearly nothing {i'm not sure if you count puffy paint}

and took me a month to finish {because i love to do this kind of crap}

even the doofus zipper foot broke and i had to install it by hand...

a few braided strips of fraying satin and a little gold duct tape and we are in business!

 Eva makes this bed sheet look good!

two faced...

this is the after picture...

{the after i let my chidren "make me over" and then cleaned it off and re-did it...}

  this is Cora's half of my face... she demonstrated the "smokey eye" {according to her of course} with a sculpted cheek using the smear-it-down-to-the-jaw-line technique...

Eva's half was a classic eye with a defined crease {not too shabby actually!} her blush was almost in the right place... pretty good for a nine yr old! 

neither one of them attempted to work on my dark circles... they are novices after all!

honestly i was laughing so hard that im sure i didn't make it easy on them... we made a video {that needs some serious editing} that i will post eventually.... they both have expressed a serious interest in blogging and Eva said when she turns 18 her and i can be makeup artists together! at this very moment they are begging me to get off the computer and do some projects for their american girl dolls... too bad Eva shattered my camera {no lie, loooooong story...}

thats why i love these fancy phones, who needs cameras anymore! {k seriously i really do need a nice one, but you know what i mean!}

a tiny dog and a large man...

 so, i was gonna talk about how freaking hot it was this day and how i was the only person at church in tights.... and how i really wasnt trying to make any sort of fashion statement... i just hadn't finished waxing my legs, i had only made it to about the middle of my calf... super gross, super hairy, super embarrassing...

But then i saw these pictures and realized that  my large husband and tiny dog were really the breaking news here...

 he holds her like a new born baby...

and lets her kiss his face more than he lets me

Puke.

 so there has been some serious puke going on at my house... first it was Cora last weekend... not stop pink vomit... then it was Eva last night,

one. big. HUGE. projectile vomit that hosed nearly our entire bathroom with pink watermelon puke....

 at 2am.

after the child finally let it all out she felt really great... so great in fact that she couldn't sleep she was so excited... she started to sing in fact... the same song over and over and then tell me stories, lots of stories... so finally i said "kid if you cant sleep could you please just read or something cause you're driving your momma nuts!!!" so she sayed up reading till around 3:30 which means i didn't sleep until 4! 

~sigh~

my day is now upside down.

and i am honestly fine with that as long as i dont get the pukes

 cause i dont have time for that business!

the best /worst family pictures ever...

 isn't it though? seriously! i feel like the combo of Corys "tough mudder beard" and our ridiculous faces makes this one of the best family pics we have ever taken to date...

 now you all must know by now how i love to procrastinate big sewing projects and these Easter dresses were no exception... the week before i was scrambling as usual to bust these babies out, just barely squeaked by...
