a tiny maxi....

 when i was visiting Sophie she handed me a pile of clothes from her refashion pile and told me what she wanted to do with them... so i got to work...

this was my favorite transformation! she thrifted an empire waist tube top in a super cute print that she invisioned as a baby maxi dress..

 i basically just took in the sides to fit my shrimpy little niece Eden and used the extra fabric for the straps...

       look at that face!

so easy it kills me... and eden loved it so much she wore it for 3 days straight!

 see how stylish she is! she even realizes the importance of accessories!

I cracked

Look how happy I am to be in a thrift store!!... or maybe it is because I am getting a picture taken by myself in DI and I just realized I am very close to this random stranger.

Really if there is anyone to blame it's Katherine.  She came into town with out much notice and there wasn't time to get my bearings so with in two minutes of a telephone conversation I asked her if she wanted to go thrifting... I'm SO weak!

Thanks to a very supportive Katherine I spent a good amount of time taking in and fixing all but ONE of the things in my "clothing altering/taking in/fixing pile". There were like 10 things so I feel pretty good and like I wasn't that big of a cheater.

thrifted sunshine...

i found this magical mustard yellow dress while i was out thrifting with Suze and Sophie and my Mom... it was about 4 sizes too big but i NEEDED it because i knew those shoulders and that color were a winning combo... i just stitched it up from sleeve to hem it took all of 20 mins and i had a new dress for a whopping $2

he was just standing there and just before the countdown was done he would jump in... i kept thinking he was done, but i should know better... he's never done. We have been married 10yrs this June, and he still surprises me daily. last night for example, he turned off the goofy and turned on the romantic and made me a bubble bath with candles and rose petals just because i had a rotten day... such a sweetie!

we went on a blind date...

a blogger blind date... 

To a super cool thrift store of course!

 with none other than Miss Vinyl Ahoy herself!

and can i just say that she is even more beautiful in person {and a bit taller than i imagined... ;) }

she took us to a couple of her favorite local thrift stores and we DIED! we were in thrift heaven and majorly scored some magical stuff...

Poor Suze only left with a GARBAGE BAG full of stuff...

um. no.

 they even had a little Suze doll! ~creepy~

she is so cute! we had such a blast!

don't let Sophie's sweet innocent face fool you... she TOTALLY swiped these beautiful Carmel colored leather gloves right out of my freaking hand! OUT OF MY HAND! its not like we both saw them and she got to them first i had them in my hand and she yanked them out!! i let her have them because i am the oldest and the most mature... i guess i could have wrestled her to the ground...

 {on second thought she would have won that fight i am more mature but she is clearly stronger than me}

mom scored some sweet deals too... she even found a prom dress for Elise! 15 bucks baby!

Thrifty Mcthrifterson...

 so we pretty much thought we would do all this blogging and take all these pictures when everyone got here but people got sick and people were catching up my laundry etc

... and we pretty much thrifted instead...

 i basically forced Sophie to teach my dance classes just for kicks so that is what we wore nearly the entire time we were together, stretchy stuff...

it was super helpful at the thrift store cause you could totally pull stuff on over your stretchy pants

 Sophie  MADE me try on trousers... i totally get the idea... its just that every time i try them on i feel ridiculous...

truthfully, i was pretty close to purchasing these suckers....until i noticed

good hair, bad hair and mini me

90% of the time I really don't like my hair...... 90% of the time I don't take time to do my hair.

hmmmm.... maybe there is a correlation between the two?

I actually took the time today...

 and it's not my hair it's my LAZINESS!

Isn't there a hair cut that I can get that just looks fabulous without any effort??

So, without knowing it I match my little lady to what I'm wearing...

Normally I don't put real clothes on until Eden's morning nap, then she wakes up and I put her in an outfit...

I don't mean to match our outfits but I guess I get a color scheme in my head.

My Mother in-law always notices and then I'm like, "Oh, yeah I guess we do kinda match." :)
