fancy flip flops...

Aug 6, 2010

when i told Sophie about my idea for these flip-flops i said "they are so cute i might even.... nope not even, but i would love that flower on a heel!"

sadly, i am too vain to rock a flip-flop... if you are gonna expose your toes rock a strappy platform stilleto sandal...

these little beauties are for my little girls (who look super cute in flip flops)

you will need;
flip-flops
fancy buttons
pleather (vinyl, leather looking stuff)
scraps of felt
needle
thread
scissors
glue gun

cut 6 rectangles per pair of shoes

trim to look like this

now you have some flower petals!

fold in 1/2 right sides together

fold the ends toward the middle
like this to make an "M"

stitch through the center of your "M"
along the flat edge

make a second "M" and stitch into the first one
then stitch a third "M" into the second..
(just look at the picture ;) )

once they are all together you want to stitch the last one
into the first one like this

then flip and stitch the edges together all the way around so your petals stay put

it should look like this

hot glue a small circle of felt to the back of each flower

cut another circle per shoe and snip in 1/2 way

hot glue this to the flip-flop

then you make a hot glue sandwich felt circle to felt circle

hot glue your button

all done!!!!
SO fancy...

sorry. no cute pics of my kids feet in these cute shoes... their toenail polish was so chipped and not cute (sophie would have totally killed me for photgraphing less than perfectly manicured toes)
plus Cora decided to ride her scooter barefoot and scraped up her little toes and had three toes wrapped in princess bandaids...

on second thought...

maybe i should have...

it would have bugged the crap out of Sophie!

have a fancy day!
