target jeggings are my life...

Mar 22, 2011

i have a secret....

i wear these jeans every day
{and sometimes i sleep in them cause they really are so comfortable i just forget i'm wearing them, or i'm lazy, whichever you choose to believe}
thrifted target blazer, thrifted striped top, nine west key chain on a chain, Target jeggings, Jessica Simpson boots TJmax

honestly... i am a tad bit worried that they will totally shrink if i wash them and then i will cry big tears... BIG HUGE tears.

question? did your jeggings shrink a ton after the first wash? i have another pair but they were thrifted and clearly washed before i got my hands on them...

what about febreeze? should i just febreeze my pants and not risk shrinkage?

gosh i'm gross...
but these pants are so cute can you blame me really?

look they even make my hair look better..
k not really, still chopping it...

  1. I have the same jeggings. At first, owning them made me feel approximately 15 years old. But, I love them as much as you do! Mine did not shrink. I was them in warm water and tumble dry low...

  2. I have Target jeggings, though they are much darker. I wear them a ton! And I washed them a ton at the beginning because they were dying certain underclothing blue. Which is no good. But they didn't shrink.

  3. wash them in cold and they shouldn't shrink. If they do, they will most definitely stretch right back out again. I love my jeggings.

  4. LOVE target jeggings! Love! Mine haven't shrunk yet, they are stretchy so if they did I didn't really notice too much. You totally rock them!

  5. I don't have any jeggings because I'm skeptical about them, but you make a good argument for at least trying them on. You look fabulous!

  6. i read an article in the wall street journal about how you don't really need to wash denim. it said that every 6 months you should rinse your jeans in cold water in the bathtub because a washing machine is too abrasive and can hurt the fit of the jean. it also said to add a few pumps of hand soap if you need a very gentle cleanser. unless something really nasty is on my jeans, i choose live by those words.

  7. yep, i have definately dyed certain underclothes blue before... like an entire load of them... and i just folded them and put them away and pretended like i didn't... husband didn't think it was as funny as i thought he would.. :)

  9. I think they won't shrink just by washing but if you dry them with heat they might. I just air dry my jeans!

  15. I completely understand! I have a pair of jeggings from target I wear all. the. time! Except mine stretch out like crazy, even when I wash them. So based on that i'd say chance it...

Girl. Friend. I just scored two pair of them on the clearance rack for $4 each, and LOVE them. You are right - as long as you don't see the stretchy elastic waist, they look just like the skinniest skinny jeans evah. So friggin cute!

Love them with your boots, and you're right - your hair looks GLORIOUS.

    merci,

  17. Wash in cold water with tons of fabric softener, and then hang to dry. They shouldn't shrink (much).

You don't need to wash them! Only if you've spilled something obvious on them. If they're starting to seem less than fresh, just throw them in the freezer for a few hours - they'll come out nice and fresh. Just don't put 'em on right away...brr! (ps, that's a trick for raw denim, which you're not supposed to wash until at least 8 months of wear)

OMG, I ALMOST PEED MY PANTS. I LOVE THE FEBREEZE PART.
TRY HAND DRYING THEM, AND USE BABY DETERGENT.
    LOVE YOU GUYS,

  20. you all have no idea how cool it is that so many of you say NOT to wash your jeans! a lazy girls dream come true! it feels like when i discovered that you shouldn't wash your hair everyday and i was like "ya i know thats why i don't" but i really didn't know, i was just lazy and wanted to avoid the blowdryer arm cramp...

Loved our conversation Selina! Thanks for all your help! Even though I told you that I don't think I have the "skinny jeans" body, you got me curious about these leggings! They look like real jeans, I can't believe it, and so adorable with boots. How do you think they would look with flats?

  22. I always wash my denim & jeggings... I like them to be super super tight! And I am a germ-a-phobe! I have many pairs and the only pair that shrank are from the loft {but they still fit, just extra tight}. All the others have not shrunk.

  23. I bought some black jeggings last weekend and washed them in cold water then put them in the dryer. They didn't shrink but got bigger in the waist. Now I have to wear a belt with them. Wondering why they did that though.
