gigantic glittery earrings tutorial....

Dec 14, 2011

 i literally couldn't WAIT to show you guys these earrings... for 2 big reasons
1. super cool technique {easy to make your own}

 do. you. die!?

i got instantly excited when i got my package from Tulip! the shimmer transfer sheets where begging to be made into jewelry and i had this picture of these HUGE frayed shimmer earrings in my mind...
 after i drew my earrings to scale i cut out the version i wanted to try first and laid it on the plastic side of the transfer sheet {this will be peeled off so you can draw directly on it} i traced it with a sharpie and cut it down smaller and smaller tracing 2 of each size until it looked like this
 cut them out and place them on your fabric of choice {preferably one that frays easily} *REMEMBER to remove the plastic!!!
 lay a sheet of fabric on top of your cut outs and iron right over for about 40 seconds

 cut out your pieces...
 and stack them...
 i guess you better fray them first!
 i punched a gromet through the pieces....

 ...and added 2 links and a hook...
 all done! these suckers took me about a half hour from start to finish!
i cant wait to try the Shimmer fabric paint.... i have a bib necklace idea that has been calling my name!
